Kingdom Rock VBS

Kingdom Rock VBS

We had an exciting week in Kingdom Rock. Once again we partnered with St. Paul’s UCC of Sellersville. There were 58 children and over 40 volunteers that helped to make the week a true success. Each day the kids traveled throughout the kingdom. The visit to the wizard gave them the opportunity to experience the wonders of science. In the guild hall they create crafts under the guidance of the various craft masters. The castle courtyard was full of beautiful sounds as they expressed God’s word through music and dance. Active training and recreation took place through Tournament Games. The King’s Kitchen was open for rest and refreshment where the children created snacks that reinforced the lesson they learned. They discovered the treasure found in Philippians 4:6, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything”.

Our daily skit followed the tale of Squire Wally as he worked hard to become a true knight of Kingdom Rock. The biblical stories of kings and queens taught the principle points of this VBS:

  • God’s love helps us… Stand Strong!
  • Family and Friends help us… Stand Strong!
  • Prayer helps us… Stand Strong!
  • Trusting God helps us… Stand Strong!
  • The Bible helps us… Stand Strong!

The VBS Mission Project was Pennridge FISH (Fellowship In Serving Humanity) our local food pantry. FISH has been in operation for over 4 decades and serves more than 700 families a year in our area. Our daily offering was dedicated to the FISH Building Fund to support their move into a new facility. We also gathered non-perishable items for the pantry shelves. We surpassed our $350 goal by raising $468 making this mission a great success.

I would like to say thank you to all who helped create this great week for our children. There was lots of fun and energy at VBS this year. Thank you to the children who participated with such enthusiasm. That is what makes it enjoyable for all involved. We look forward to a great VBS again next year!
