St. John’s Community Garden

Thirteen members of NOPT went on a mission trip to New Orleans, July 8 – 13, 2009. This trip was to complete Phase 1 of the St. John’s Community Garden. The team financed this mission with fundraising and personal expenditures.

  • Fundraising for this mission trip has been the focus of our team’s efforts. Our first fundraiser in January, a Chili Cook-Off, was a great success!
  • Another fundraiser was a “Taste of New Orleans Luncheon” held after church Sunday, June 28th, with a goodwill donation collected to help defray costs of materials.
  • Pastor Scott has created a blog for folks to share and reflect from the trip. All are welcome to visit HOPE IN ACTION – Reflections on Mission, Partnership, and Inspiration to read reflections on the recent Mission Partnership trip to New Orleans.
