Spring 2009 – Exploring Faith’s Deep Questions

Every day, people raise important questions of faith and meaning. The questions reveal the good-faith struggles of the questioners, and often speak for other members of the congregation as well. They can be questions about things that confound us. Or they can be expressions of longing that arise from our personal journeys. We have questions about the depth and breadth of God’s love, what kind of power God exercises, life and death, heaven and hell, suffering and celebration, what shape God is giving to our faith community, and what gifts God has given us. When we explore these questions reflectively in dialogue with one another, welcoming the Spirit’s movement, we are blessed and spiritually fed.

Exploring Faith’s Deep Questions will be a series of four post-Easter gatherings, beginning on Sunday April 19, May 3, May 17 & May 24. We will use the format pioneered in “Jesus 101”, getting together at 12 noon on Sunday for a meal together and spending the next 90 minutes (or so) sharing, exploring, learning, and growing. Everyone who registers will have the opportunity to submit questions that are important to you. The questions we address in “Exploring Faith’s Deep Questions” will be drawn from those submitted. Pastor Scott will facilitate the process, but it will be fulfilled collectively.
