Shared Table at Old First Church
Join us in this special ministry of preparing and serving meals to men living in homeless shelters. This is a ministry organized by the Bethesda Project.
The homeless shelter at Old First Reformed United Church of Christ will be open for the 2011-12 season. This is in large part due to generous donation from volunteer congregations such as St. Andrew’s. The scheduled dates for Shared Table this year are: November 13, December 18, January 15, February 19, March 18 and April 15.
We prepare complete meals ahead of time, travel to Old First Church, serve the food to the men living at the shelter and share the spirit of God with them.
Both the Sr. Youth Group and Jr. Youth Group participate in this important ministry.

Aid for Friends
Aid for Friends is an outreach to the community. Meals are prepared both by a group or by individuals at home. Trays are available so members can, once or twice a week, share their delicious home cooked dinner with an AFF client/friend. The dinner is frozen and then brought to the AFF freezer at church. This is a great way to teach our children about sharing with sick and elderly people. Once a month a group gathers at church and makes meals with food that the group has prepared at home. The group enjoys doing that as much as the client/friends enjoy the meals that are provided to them free of charge by AFF visitors.

Memorial Garden
The Memorial Garden was dedicated in October 2009, and we are so blessed to have a truly beautiful and inspiring garden to celebrate our loved ones. Many thanks to Andrew and Ken Barndt for all the hard work that was put into making this project successful. Also, thank you to all those who made and who continue to make donations towards engraved bricks.
The brick walkway and the landscaping around the walkway are a wonderful enhancement to the Church grounds. The Garden Team is looking for anyone who enjoys working outside to help with maintaining these beautiful gardens. We need several people to rotate on a monthly basis to pull weeds, water if needed, and keep the walk clean of debris. This upkeep is
needed May through September and can be done at your convenience. If you would like to be included on the schedule contact Ken Barndt or the church office.
Engraved bricks may be ordered at anytime. A $250 donation to the Memorial Fund will give you a brick in the garden. Order forms may be obtained from the church office. If you would like to see more images of our Memorial Garden in all its glory go to our Facebook book page photo section.
Enjoy the garden!

Same Name – New Mission
The JOYful Servers are becoming a Fellowship Group! Those folk who enjoy helping in the kitchen can continue, but we also will go places, plan fun activities and have more fun-fellowship.
