Summer: A “Growing Season”

Summer is a special kind of “growing season” in our community of faith.  The weather changes, as does the rhythm of life.  The Spirit often reshapes and invigorates us in different ways.

While we will not have Sunday School in July and August, I am going to take particular care to tell, and embody, some key Bible Stories for the children.  This will begin with the stories of David from First and Second Samuel.  Every week I will share a story during the Children’s Sermon, and the children will have an opportunity to discuss each one’s impact.  It should be great fun!

Among the other exciting happenings among us this summer:  The New Orleans Mission Delegation; the Kid’s Peace Camp; Vacation Bible School, the annual Church Picnic, special music each week in worship.

I look forward to sharing the vitality, and the Sabbath, of our summer season!  And please remember, that even when we are away from one another for vacations, there are ways that we need to remain faithful to each other and to our common mission!
